Aloe Vera gel is one of the most popular mole removal ingredients for hundreds of natural remedies for a variety of health and beauty problems. The soothing gel has been used for many years in ancient Chinese herbal medicine as well as modern day western medicine. It stands to reason then, that aloe vera mole removal is among the most respected and successful natural home remedies known nowadays.
What is a Mole?
A mole is a group of cells called melanocytes. Melanocytes are responsible for the production of pigment which gives skin and hair their color. Normally, these cells are distributed around the body in an even manner, but sometimes the cells will clump together to cause a blemish. One of the most common reasons for this happening is over exposure to sunlight, which can heighten the production of melanin within the body.
Although many skin blemishes are benign, (non-cancerous) there are those which carry the risk of becoming cancerous. Melanoma, a form of skin cancer, is responsible for claiming thousands of people’s lives every year.
Even harmless blemishes can become troublesome for those who live with them. Moles can appear anywhere on the body and should they be in a place which is clearly visible, people may become self-conscious about their appearance. In addition to this, moles can be raised from the skin, causing them to become irritating if they are in a position on the body which constantly comes in contact with clothing etc. When considering the removal of a blemish, no matter what the reason may be, it is important that the patient consult a medical professional or dermatologist before any action is taken to ensure that the mole does not carry the risk of cancer.
How to Use Aloe Vera
The popularity of aloe vera mole removal stems not only from its effectiveness, but from the fact that the gel can be bought or obtained easily and the method of treatment is both easy and pain free.
- Cleanse area around the mole then take care to pat dry
- Rub aloe vera gel onto the mole, taking care to avoid the surrounding skin
- Cover the mole with a bandage
- Leave overnight
- Repeat method for one week
There are really two options for obtaining the soothing gel; it is available from most pharmacies or if an Aloe Vera plant is at hand, by breaking one of the leaves, a person is able to collect the sap which will run freely from the plant.
What to Expect
The mole will shrink in size and possibly become flaky. This will begin to happen after a few days. As the blemish continues to dry up further, it will eventually fall off completely. It is important that the patient does not, under any circumstances, pull the mole off during this process. Just as with scabs, if the blemish is removed forcefully, it is more likely to leave a scar. By leaving it to fall off on its own, there is considerably less risk of scarring. This particular part of the process can take anywhere up to a fortnight and then it could be another week before the skin heals completely. Afterwards, the skin will be clear and over time, the new skin will become the same color as the surrounding skin, leaving no sign at all that there was ever a blemish there in the first place.
